FAQ

Is the plastic you use reef safe?

The filaments we use are suitable for saltwater reef aquariums. Any of the products that are to be submerged are made with plastics that resist degradation in the saltwater environment.

Do you use a 3D printer for all your products.

For the most part yes, some of the parts are made with other machines but the majority are made with FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) printers

Your product shows that it is out of stock, can I be put on a waiting list?

Sometimes it is hard to keep up with demand and we apologize for the inconvenience. We ask that you frequently check back to the site to see if the status has changed. Or feel free to contact us at customerservice@4daquatics.com

How can I keep up to date with new products?

We plan to implement a mailer that allows loyal customers to get product information. Check back to see when we implement this change.

There are some minor defects on the parts that I received.

Due to the nature of FDM printing it is normal for there to be some minor cosmetic defects on the things that we manufacture. These minor defects will not affect the functionality of the parts.

I am unable to move the Nozzle on my MN Nozzle after being in my tank for awhile.

This is completely normal as things will build up on the sliding surfaces of the nozzle making it difficult to move.  Removing it from your tank and giving it a good cleaning in something like citric acid will help it move freely again.

Why did I receive 2 different nozzles with my MN Nozzle?

We provide both a wide flow and narrow flow nozzle with all MN Nozzles.  This will let you tailor the flow characteristics for your tank.

After installing my MN Nozzle it is slowly spinning on the glass.

The first thing to check is to make sure that your using the correct spacer on your Vortech dryside for the glass thickness that you have.

Next make sure that the glass and the backside of your Vortech wetside are clean before installing in your tank.  Any debris or algae buildup can cause your wetside to spin.

Why are some of my MN nozzles harder to move harder than others.

Due to the nature of FDM printing it's normal for there to be some variation in the size of the parts.  This slight variation in fit is completely normal and is nothing to be concerned about.

Will Installing a MN Nozzle on my Vortech reduce it's flow?

The MN nozzles are designed in a way to minimize any reduction in flow from your Vortech.
